Release and emergency authorization.

Assumption of risk and release

I understand that horses and farm activities involve unavoidable risks. Horses may behave unpredictably and may bite, kick, step on, push or throw a participant. Other risks include falls, equipment failure, uneven ground, weather, animals, tools and the actions of participants or other people. These activities may result in serious injury, property damage or death.

I voluntarily participate, or give permission for the minor named above to participate, and accept the inherent and ordinary risks associated with these activities.

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, I release and agree not to sue The Stockman School, Trevor Snowden, its instructors, volunteers, property owners and representatives for injuries, death or property damage resulting from the inherent risks of these activities or their ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct or liability that cannot legally be released. I agree that the participant will follow all safety instructions and understand that participation may be stopped whenever continued participation is considered unsafe.

Emergency authorization

If the participant is injured or becomes ill and I cannot be reached promptly, I authorize The Stockman School to provide first aid and obtain reasonably necessary emergency medical assistance. I accept responsibility for resulting medical expenses to the extent permitted by law.
